What is it about Fat Eyes?

Fat Eyes is different from other web development and design companies because our principals and designers have a background in the fine arts. We bring that experience to the table. Just about anyone can pick up a copy of Photoshop and fancy themselves a designer. But there is no way to substitute decades of experience in the visual arts. You can see it yourself in what we deliver to you.

Here's the difference:
See that little animation to the right? That's us - Doug Anderson and Gina Fiedel, co-founders and principals of Fat Eyes. Okay, yeah. We've grown up some since then. Graduates of the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, our formal visual training began ages ago. This means we've accumulated a long track record as practicing visual artists and designers with national and international exhibitions, sales, grants, awards, articles, catalogs and reviews. Our work is represented in museums and private collections worldwide. 

Life (and success) in the competitive contemporary art world gave us skills that inform our ability not only to create web sites, but also to discern, interact with and support our clients' needs.

Art-making on a professional level is not solely about making pretty pictures or objects; it requires clear intention, accepting critique, listening, dialogue, determination and perseverance, delivering the goods. These are critical skills in the art world and they are also critical skills for running a web design company. We use what we've learned.

Our work in digital media began in 1990, which paved the way to web development and founding Fat Eyes in early 1998.
